For North Dakota to build such a wonderful structure in the depression in the 1930′s, for 2 million dollars, was quite outstanding. Minnesota had to close down their government because the republicans can’t even get their act together, yet alone repair their capital building or build a football stadium is just too much for their lawmakers to handle. .
It appears to me that ND has a capitol building that is unique, compared to most of the others that are domed. I like it!
I agree about the uniqueness. Florida, Virginia, Nebraska and ND break away from the Domed building. If I want to OOhhhh and AAhhhhh about a dome or “The Golden Dome” I wil again visit the University of Notre Dame where the Golden Dome is indeed something special.
Go Irish.
I may be partial, but California’s State Capitol is truly elegant in its proportions and design. The state Capitol in Honolulu puts Hawaii ahead of other non domed buildings in unique beauty.
